A Bit About Me

I'm currently in my 23rd year of teaching. My spouse and I began our careers as Assistants de langue in lycées in Caen, France. After a year, we moved back to California, where I spent three years teaching in Half Moon Bay, followed by seven years in Palo Alto (literally across the street from Stanford University). When we felt the international pull again, we moved to Nairobi, Kenya, and spent three years at an international school there. We then moved back to California, where I'm currently in my ninth year teaching in Cupertino. For the past several years, I've taught 10th grade World Literature and 11th grade Honors American Literature.

My spouse and I have three kids (15, 12, and 10) and a german shepherd. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy cooking, reading (of course), traveling, and spending time with my family. My spouse is also a teacher, and teaches gardening and cooking classes to students ages 4-11 years old at a local elementary school.
